The Palm Room…

The 4th bedroom is now one of our faves!

To say this has been a labour of love would be an understatement at this stage. We’ve now been working on Uncle Matthews for the last eight, yes, eight months! Being a FIFO family means that we only have weekends together, so the time we’ve had to actually do what was needed was severely limited! I’m happy to say that we’re now at the final marathon! We have our first guests staying next Friday! Needless to say, we are here cleaning and organising, and most importantly styling the house.

“The Palm Room”

For me, the back fourth bedroom has been my arch nemesis, but I’m happy to say I found a way to make peace with it and it’s now one of my most favourite rooms in the house!

Styling this room wasn’t without mistakes! I pained two murals I hated, had to sand and prime both times and finally settled on a solid colour that went beautifully with the linen (and still had a mid-century feel) and managed to sand, prime and paint that wall, while Matt was away at work whilst I was sick with a flu!

“There’s no such thing as a perfect roo……”

This was the point I knew the colour was perfect!

C’mon, that deserves a “You GO girlfriend!”

Lamps atmosphere…

We found all of the lamps in the house at Target and have been so impressed with the quality for price. I’d been scouring the internet for weeks and looking at Temple and Webster etc but in the end Target won me over.

This past week we’ve navigated wifi issues that are now sorted thanks to a new router. We’ve had a new air conditioner installed thanks to Moss Electrical, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and we’ve replaced the dishwasher and washing machine.

Stansbury also celebrated its 150th Anniversary but unfortunately, we couldn’t attend because we were too busy working here (insert sad face emoji) It’s nice to think though, that we have a third generation Stansbury resident, in our daughter Bridie, who will grow up loving this gorgeous little town as much as the rest of us!

There are still some things I need to organise in the coming week, like printing out the welcome magazine, wifi code and organizing some branded soaps. It seems the world of Air BNB hosting is just a very long list of things to do, but we know that it’s all going to be worth it!
