As the year comes to a close, we find ourselves filled with joy and gratitude. Hearts are bursting with appreciation for the incredible launch and overwhelmingly positive response we’ve received during our first few months of operating an Airbnb! Today, we embark on a journey of reflection and celebration as we offer our heartfelt thanks, while also extending warm wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

To each and every one of you who chose to stay at Uncle Matthews Airbnb, we cannot begin to express our deepest gratitude. Your support has been the driving force behind our success and the reason why we now stand here, thrilled to bits (and pinching ourselves!) It’s your trust and enthusiasm that have allowed us to create a home away from home, filled with warmth, creativity and comfort and we’re forever grateful for the laughter, the stories, and the memories that you have brought into our space. To celebrate we had some special ornaments made by Arlo & Co to hang on our tree!
Thank you also to our followers and supporters in the virtual spaces for standing by us and sharing our journey with such enthusiasm, as we navigated creating our brand and brand voice (although I feel like the creative in me will never be satisfied and always want to change it on a whim!) Your unwavering support, whether through word of mouth, social media engagement, or kind words of encouragement, has been an invaluable part of our growth. The sense of community that has developed around UM is a testament to the connection we strive to foster with each and every one of you. We recently took part in a massive giveaway with Fable + Fig and eleven other South Australian brands, worth $8 thousand dollars! This was a highlight of November and early December, and we were thrilled to be able to give away a weekend stay to the lucky winner!
As the holiday season envelops us, we extend our warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas. May your celebrations be filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. We also spare a thought for those of us who find Christmas a tough time of year for many reasons. As you gather around the table, may the food be delicious, the company enjoyable, and the memories everlasting.
We have a beautiful local extended family staying at Uncle Matthews this Christmas and we hope they love the deck area with its pretty new lanterns and the tree we put up (while we listened to our favourite Christmas tunes!)

We owe our success to the incredible individuals like you who have chosen to embark on this journey with us. Whether you have stayed at Uncle Matthews Airbnb, supported us from afar, or simply been a part of our community, your presence has made a profound impact. We’d like to remind our guests that the apricot tree is now overflowing and to please help yourself to a bowl (hopefully there is enough for everyone to enjoy over the warmer months each year!)

We’d like to take a moment to thank Ada (our House Manager) for the exceptional work she has done in cleaning and styling Uncle Matthew’s since it’s launch. The quality of Ada’s efforts has been truly incredible. Her attention to detail and impeccable standards to cleanliness she consistently maintained was truly admirable. Thanks to Ada’s dedication and hard work, our guests felt welcomed to the space and this has undoubtedly contributed to our success. Thankyou Ada, for going above and beyond in your role, your commitment is greatly appreciated.
March and April are already booking out, if you’re considering staying in any of the school holidays, we encourage you to book to avoid disappointment! Remember you can always book directly through us if you aren’t air bnb inclined, you’ll also miss out on extra fees this way!
We eagerly embrace the blank canvas of the New Year before us as we raise a glass to new beginnings, to dreams waiting to be fulfilled, and to adventures yet to be discovered. We hope the approaching year will be filled with boundless opportunities, personal growth, endless moments of happiness and much less stress!

So, as we bid farewell to this remarkable year, which saw us personally overcome quite a few adversities, as our family balanced health issues (mainly me thanks to a dodgy thyroid!), fifo life and launching more than one new business (check out Hungry Homer Donuts our other passion!)
